How can I find the MAC address of a UGREEN ethernet adapter for Chromecast? - 1
Added (1). I have purchased a UGREEN ethernet adapter for Chromecast. However, I need to find the MAC address in order to hooked it up to my university's wired connection. How can I find the MAC address? Plugging the adapter into my laptop and using the command 'getmac/v' does not show the adapter's MAC address.
If not on the identification label, accessing system/network information will/should have it.
Not all OS works the same with direct commands, common access is URL and browser.
Typical URL is 192,168.0.0 Or 1 for last digit.

In windows you can get the info from the Networking and Sharing section of the control panel and looking at the details for the individual adapter.
Your problem is going to be that using the university network, you are going to need the MAC address of the chromecast too, which is going to need to connect to Wi-Fi. In a high user density area this may cause you problems with the available bandwidth. It may be that you would need to have your own router plugged into the uni network via it's lan port, so that you have your own local Wi-Fi for the chromecast (and your own laptop maybe).
You are at Uni, they usually have nerds who can talk you through this sort of stuff!
Hi so as it is part of the computer this information is of no use to you in any way. This issue with these chrome cast computers i they are just terminals not meant to be used as a proper laptop with a dvd rom drive. The port is fixed can't be changed.
Hi, did you manage to find it? I'm currently facing the same issue with my firestick. I have bought a ugreen adapter but can't find the wired mac address which i need to connect to my uni WiFi
